Service Policy

My constant aim is that my work is of the highest professional standard. I have restored many photographs and am confident that you will find no better service of this kind in Zimbabwe.

Modus Operandi

It will be your responsibility to ensure that you prepare your original photograph for transit in suitably protective packaging. I would recommend that the photograph be sandwiched between two sheets of cardboard, with a sheet of paper over the surface of the photograph to further protect it from the cardboard. The sheets of cardboard should then be taped together. Put this into a (preferably padded) envelope along with your name, address, telephone number, email address and a detailed description of the work you would like me to carry out. Write "PHOTOGRAPHS - DO NOT BEND" on the outside of the envelope in bold letters. Address to: S. Baker, Zimdesigns, P.O. Box 653, Marondera, Zimbabwe and send by express parcel service or courier. Please do not send your photographs by post, as this is unreliable at best!

If you have access to a scanner, you may prefer to send me the photograph as an image file. Most file types are acceptable, but I prefer PSD or JPG files if possible. If you are sending the file as an email attachment, please ensure that it is no bigger than 1.5 mebagytes (MB).

Upon receipt of your photograph and instructions, I will examine these and as soon as possible get back to you by telephone or email with an estimate of timescale and cost.

Once the work is completed, a proof will be emailed to you for your approval. At this stage (i.e. following approval but prior to printing out the finished work) the fee becomes payable.

Upon receipt of the fee, I will print out your photograph. I use an Epson 1160 colour ink-jet printer and Epson compatible inks and papers. For a glossy photograph smaller than A4 in size, I recommend Epson Photo Paper. For prints up to A3 in size, I also have Matte Heavyweight (an 'art' paper with an attractive matt finish) and semi-gloss photo paper, which has an alternative finish.

Once the photograph has been printed, I will send it to you, along with any originals, by express parcel service.
